Shyla Varad is one of the fastest heroes in the game and can also defend well and attack with authority. As a daughter of Mandalore, she is one of the best all-around heroes and has very few weaknesses and plenty of strengths. She comes in the Jabba's Realm Expansion.

Shyla Varad has one of the best stat lines in the game. 12 Health is great and will keep her alive for quite some time. The 4 endurance is kind of disappointing but luckily, you can raise it with an XP card. The 5 speed and a black die are both great and will help Shyla tremendously. Her abilities are Mandalorian Whip and Respite. Mandalorian Whip costs an action and a strain but allows you to push an enemy figure to a space adjacent to her, and then attack that figure. She also has Respite which will allow her to recover 1 strain at the end of her activation if she is not adjacent to enemy figures. All of these abilities paired with a great stat line a good attributes make Shyla a competitive hero.
Build #1
This first build is going to be a basic build that I have run with pretty good success. I'll begin with a great card - All-out Attack. When this card is used correctly, it is very powerful and makes Shyla get plenty of damage for a small amount of XP. Next, for a weapon I'll use her Duelist's Blade starting weapon. This attack will be made more powerful with All-out Attack and is great at getting damage across the table. I'll also add Vibrogenorator to make her Duelist's Blade even more powerful.

Build #2
This next build is going to make Shyla a fast and survivable hero - to of her biggest strengths. First, I start with Deadly Grace. This card, in my opinion, is her best card for her because it makes her faster, more survivable and more resilient - which is exactly what I want. I'll also add Responsiveness because this can either make you recover strain or gain even more movement points. For a weapon, I would go with Punch Dagger over her Duelist's Blade. This consistent weapon, when combined with my next XP card - Proximity Strike - makes this weapon deadly. Additionally, this keeps her toll on the Rebel's resources light.

Build #3
Shyla can easily play as a superhero and that is what this build will accomplish. I'll start with one of the best and most expensive weapons in the game - Electrostaff. Both the reach ability and the Cleave 2 ability combine nicely with this next upgrade - Full Sweep. This means that Shyla could either do Cleave 3 with reach, or get an amazing Cleave 5. Again I'll add Deadly Grace to make Shyla a all-around better hero. I'll end this build with Swords Dance. This will allow Shyla to attack twice while only using one action. Better yet, she can again Cleave. The best case scenario with Electrostaff, Full Sweep and Swords Dance (with blanks on defense) is 14 damage, Cleave 7. Wow! This damage output is almost unparalleled by any other hero and this only takes one action.
