MHD-19 is the only droid hero in Imperial Assault. He comes in the Return to Hoth expansion box and is a support hero through and through.

First off, looking at MHD-19's stats, he's pretty good. He has mediocre attributes but has an impressive 12 health. This combos with 4 endurance and 4 speed - both on the lower end. He also boasts a black defense die. His abilities are pretty good. Medical Loadout allows him to, for an action, choose any Medical card in the supply deck. This is one of his best and most useful abilities and I have found it helpful throughout the campaign. His next ability, however, forces MHD-19 to be a support - he cannot use Medical cards on himself. His final ability, Ready for Service is pretty good if you are going to attack while you support. But ultimately, it's probably better to just support with MHD-19. His weapon is Sidearm Blaster and is one of the worst weapons in the game. Although it has surge to stun and displays a double modification, it is a blue-yellow attack with no surge for damage. I find it hard to push damage across with this weapon unless you are focused, which is a real hinderance.
Build #1
MHD-19, in my opinion, is best run as a cheap support option in a 4 player build. I would not think about recommending him in a 2 or 3 hero squad. This is going to be a lighter build that will focus on healing his squadmates. I'll start with Bacta Radiator. This is one of MHD-19's best cards and although it costs 4XP it is totally worth it. Finally I'll add Bacta Injector. Combining these cards will make MHD-19 vital to any squad and allow his squadmates to recover damage rapidly and focus on shooting stormtroopers.
Totals: 5 XP
Build #2
This next build is going to make MHD-19 assist your friends and make them better offensive threats. I'll start with one of my favorite XP cards for MHD-19 - Adrenal Vapor. This not only allows another friendly figure to add a yellow die, but it gives them a solid surge to recover 1 damage. Also I will add Miracle Worker. If you're running a 4 hero squad, this card is really good. It allows MHD-19 to resurrect somebody before they become wounded. If used properly, this card can be the difference between winning the mission and losing.
Totals: 6 XP
Build #3
MHD-19 doesn't really want to be an offensive threat - but I'm going to try to make that work anyway. First I'll give him Electrostaff. This powerful weapon is expensive, but will give MHD-19 a nice punch. Next I'll give him Combat Override. This card not only allows MHD-19 to access explosives in the supply deck easily, it also allows him to take a double action to perform 3 attacks (and then suffer 3 damage).
Totals: 1250 Credits 4 XP
This hero review is shorter than most of the reviews I do and if you think there might be a reason for that - you're right. I don't think MHD-19 is very good. First of all, he is not that powerful of a support hero - I would much rather have Ko-Tun Feralo or Gideon Argus. Additionally, he's not that much fun to play. Most of your activations will be spent running around helping your other heroes recover a small handful of damage. To me, that's not really an enjoyable experience and it doesn't help the squad out enough for me to justify it. Truthfully, I wouldn't recommend running him. If you do wish to take him, make sure you keep his builds light and use 4 heroes.
