Power Charger - Item Card Review

Power Charger is a Tier 3 equipment card that is included in Heart of the Empire Expansion. It costs 400 credits and interacts with the expansion's new mechanic - power tokens. Power Charger is not only a great way to bring power tokens to older heroes, but it is also quite effective at getting damage through.

First off, I want to say that Power Charger seems more like a Modification than an equipment. It gives you surge to a damage or surge power token while you attack. This is really good because it works on any of your weapons - which immediately makes me think this would be best on a hero with multiple weapons. The second half of this card where the value of this card is really found. You can exhaust Power Charger when you spend a damage or surge power token to apply +2 of the symbol instead of one. This will allow you to spend a damage power token for +2 damage. This is truly amazing. So, what heroes does this card couple with? First off Ko-Tun Feralo comes to mind. Because he can easily get power tokens with his Arms Distribution ability, he will almost always be able to use the second half of this card. This will make him a great attacker for the price of 400 Credits. Additonally, this card would be good for any hero with a weapon that surges a lot. A-12 Sniper Rifle immediately comes to mind as well as Pulse Cannon. Both of these weapons would suit this amazing item card quite well.
