Gaffi Stick - Item Card Review

Gaffi Stick is a Tier 1 weapon that cost 200 credits. I really believe that this weapon is a great starting point for a hero because it is so cheap and available in Tier 1 (also, it's pretty good at slicing through enemy troopers).

The Gaffi Stick boasts a red-yellow combination and is a melee weapon. With an automatic Pierce 1, this thing can kill Stormtroopers and other light units pretty easily. Although the only surge is surge to weaken (quite disappointing) I think the raw dice will power through for the first handful of missions. As you get into later missions, you will need to upgrade this weapon. You could opt for Weighted Head, but this is quite expensive and won't do anything if the defender blocks your attack. Vibrogenorator would actually be quite interesting (since your surges are terrible) but it is a Tier 3 modification and I don't think you want to wait that long. You could take Energized Hilt to change your attack pool to Red-Red, and although this is pretty good, I think there is a better option - High Impact Guard. Ultimately, I think High Impact Guard is the best modification for this weapon, since you will get a lot of surges. It will also help with your defense which is important in the later missions. Overall, this is a fantastic early stage weapon and can be turned into an even better weapon later in the game.
