This class deck almost reinvents how you should play the Imperial player and will give you far more flexibility and diversity in your armies. I highly recommend this class deck because it is not only fun but quite competitive. Using Powerful Foes you can earn villains without doing a mission. Additionally, Nemeses gives you two starting cards, the other one being Inspirational. Inspirational is not that straight forward and quite hard to set up for its small reward.
Build #1
This build is going to focus on getting as many villains on the table as possible and making them as effective as possible. First, I'm going to start with Leave them to Me. This card will allow you to bring two villains instead of just one. Additionally, you can reduce the deployment cost of the villain, allowing you to get expensive units for cheap. Then I'll get Ringleader and Devastating Legion. This will allow my villains to overwhelm the heroes.
When talking about best villains for this build, I'm going to go with the Grand Inquisitor and Bossk. Until I get Leave them to Me, I'll opt for the Inquisitor. So, why did I choose these Villains? The Grand Inquisitor offers a lot of pros. First, he has a speed of 5 which will allow him to keep up with the heroes. His Deadly ability will let him cancel out the annoying dodges that many of the heroes will get. He is also fairly defensible and can throw his lightsaber if he needs to. He is a great place for Ringleader because he will move quickly and stay with the rest of his troopers. Next, Bossk is annoying. With Devastating Legion and Ringleader he will get attacked a lot. And then, he can use Regenerate to recover some of that damage. Overall, he will have to take concentrated fire to be defeated and that will slow down the heroes.
Totals: 9 XP
Build #2
This build is going to make everyone's favorite Star Wars villain, Darth Vader, really good. First, I'll start with Ringleader. This is a must-have for Vader because it will make him faster. I'll also get Prepare the Ambush - another card to make Vader terribly fast. I'll cap it off with Indomitable and Devastating Legion.
As for my other villain, I'm going to go with Maul. First and most importantly, he's cheap. Additionally, he's survivable and has 12 health - quite a bit for a 7-cost unit.
Total: 11 XP
Build #3
Now I'm going to make the most competitive build with this class deck. I'll get Ringleader and Devastating Legion - just because they're both really good. Then I'll get Indomitable and Punishing Force. Unlike many of my previous builds, I'm going to go for cheap Villains - Captain Terro and Jabba the Hutt. Both of these are good values for low price points. This will leave room for other units. But the best part about this build is Indomitable. During almost every campaign, you will have to defeat a villain at the end. And this is where Indomitable comes in. It is not just the villains you choose, but you can get an extra defense die for any villain. This means when you face General Weiss at the end of the core game, he'll have 3 black defense dice. This will make getting through his 20+ health (in the mission rules you get +10 health) next to impossible (this also works for Darth Vader really well).
Totals: 13 XP
You have to try this class deck. It is one of my personal favorites.
