Military Might - Imperial Class Deck Review

The Military Might class deck comes in the Core Set and focuses on utilizes troopers to carry out the Imperial players prerogative. It's starter card, Show of Force, is pretty good and will make winning early missions easier. Building off this card, I'll make three different builds of these cards for you to try.


Build #1


First I'll start with Shock and Awe. This card will help you get extra damage out of all of your units - not just mega attacks. Truthfully, I think that spending the threat is definitely worth it in most scenarios. Additionally, from mission to mission, you can bank the strain tokens (I've checked the rules extensively and found nothing to contridict this, but correct me if I'm wrong). This is really good. If you're losing a mission and it will be quite easy for the rebels to win, you can just power up for the next mission or even the finale. Next, I'll get Sustained Fire. This card is really good if a unit is about to die or if the mission is about to end. It's still good if you get another activation if you don't have to move, because then you discard stunned and shoot. Finally, I would add Assault Armor. This is really good on AT-AT's and will significantly up their survivability.

Build #2


This build is going to focus on making your troopers easy to get and hard to kill. I'll start with Assault Armor. This attachment is going to be best on Stormtroopers because they will all benefit from the +2 health. Then, I'll add Combat Veterans and Endless Ranks. These will help me get troopers easily and make some of my troopers hard to kill and attacking machines. I'l finish this build off with Combat Medic - one card that is easily worth the points. You though that the Snowtrooper's Environmental Recovery Gear was good? This card is so much better. Although it costs a threat, it doesn't use an action, works on non-troopers and recovers 2 damage instead of 1. This card is so good and should be included in almost every Military Might build.

Build #3


In this build, I'm going to go all-out on troopers. I'll start with Shock and Awe and Sustained Fire for a basic increase potential damage. Then, I'll get Endless Ranks and Combat Medic to get troopers on the board and keep them there. Finally, I'll end it with the best card for this build - Shock Troopers. This card will boost any attack and is really useful. Because it can be used multiple times per round, it is a really good buy for 3 XP.

Quick note, though. For this build to work, you will need to invest heavily in troopers. Also, I do not recommend using this class deck for Jabba's Realm, because you will not be working with many troopers. You'll need Stormtroopers, Jet Troopers, E-web Engineers, Heavy Stormtroopers and others in mass for this build to work well.
